Nikola Tesla (born 10 July 1856, Smiljan, Croatia – died 7 January 1943, The New Yorker Hotel, New York, United States) was a Serbian-American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, and futurist. He is best known for designing the modern alternating current (AC) electricity supply system. In 1891 he invented the Tesla coil, which is still used in radio technology.
