Ernest Miller Hemingway (born 21 July 1899, Cicero [now in Oak Park], Illinois, United States – died 2 July 1961, Ketchum, Idaho, United States) was an American novelist, short-story writer, journalist, and sportsman. He published seven novels, six short-story collections, and two nonfiction works. Three of his novels, four short-story collections, and three nonfiction works were published posthumously. Hemingway won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1954 and his iconic book 'The Old Man and the Sea' won the Pulitzer Prize.
